Description

Perfect for any corner of the house, our thick, 100% cotton runners can be used as centrepieces, american tablemats for a tête-à-tête dinner, or for a lunch party of six when three are combined with a colourful organza under cloth. Nina’s Rose is a new design that reinterprets a classic Lisa Corti blueprint, pairing three painterly roses with a Telas de Lengua-inspired border, hand-printed with carved blocks to celebrate craftsmanship. This collection has called for Lisa Corti to embark on an exciting new printing technique. This innovative technology is unique as the printed design originates from a hero hand-carved prototype created using block printing and crafted by master artisans in India, which is then copied onto pure cotton. Made exclusively in Italy, this new artisanal yet modern practice embodies Lisa Corti's fusion of heritage and innovation.

India 4

In India, I found my calling: to create a very personal line of textiles that combined my African sensibility, my European culture, and my understanding of Indian techniques.

Block Printing

Most of Lisa Corti's fabrics are hand crafted using the art of blockprinting, an ancient woodprint technique that originated in 16th century India.
Dipped in pigment and then pressed onto the fabric, each carved section of a design corresponds to a different colour. Created with incredible patience and skill, patterns form, one colour at a time, making every piece of Lisa Corti fabric a composition of intricately layered tones, in which small imperfections offer a guarantee of uniqueness
