True to Italian tradition, mezzeri are cotton cloths that can be used both decoratively and practically throughout your home and outdoor spaces. Incredibly versatile, this all-encompassing format can be used as the perfect setting for a 10 to 12 seater table , an outdoor buffet or beach picnic, and also doubles as an airy king size bedspread or colorful cover to transform your favourite sofa. Meticulously handcrafted in India using the artisanal technique of blockprinting, charming imperfections make each and every Lisa Corti mezzero unique. The timeless Nizam design originates from the reinterpretation of a beautiful rose inspired by a French Aubusson carpet.
Soft and generous, the roses bloom in shades of pink, coral and fuchsia, enlivened by deep green foliage and bright touches of colour. Framed by delicate Oriental-inspired borders, they stand out against a soft cream background, creating a refined contrast with the bold outer field of stripes.
The richness of the design is reflected in the complexity of its making: Nizam is one of the patterns requiring the largest number of printing blocks. Eleven different blocks are needed to complete the rose alone.
It is precisely the combination of the romantic softness of the flowers with the strong geometric rhythm of the stripes that makes Nizam such an iconic and enduring favourite. A richly decorative yet balanced composition, where florals and geometry come together effortlessly.

In India, I found my calling: to create a very personal line of textiles that combined my African sensibility, me European culture, and my undesrtanding of indian techniques.
Block Printing
Most of Lisa Corti's fabrics are hand crafted using the art of blockprinting, an ancient woodprint technique that originated in 16th century India.
Dipped in pigment and then pressed onto the fabric, each carved section of a design corresponds to a different colour. Created with incredible patience and skill, patterns form, one colour at a time, making every piece of Lisa Corti fabric a composition of intricately layered tones, in which small imperfections offer a guarantee of uniqueness
Whether it’s a gift or a personal purchase, with every Lisa Corti order we are delighted to offer you our signature hand-printed Tote Bag* as a complimentary gift.
